Custom Decor for a Festival Tent
So, you’ve heard that our newest venture is fabrication for events.. but what does that mean exactly? Well, it means that if you can’t find the perfect rental or backdrop for your event, we can build it for you from scratch! This comes in handy when the needs of your venue don’t match the rental options you have access to. Need to cover an unsightly wall? Consider a custom backdrop. Have a large space you need to get creative to fill? Consider custom furniture fabrication or structures.
Our Austin City Limits Festival Artist Village install is the perfect example of combining custom decor and rentals to perfectly fill a large space. When you have a venue this big (which happens often at festivals), you need to get creative! Let’s chat about the pieces we designed and built to make this layout work.
Custom Furniture Fabrication | A Big Bar
Starting with a massive, empty tent is always a challenge and our clients wanted the space to feel full. We knew that lounges, cocktail, and dining rentals would take up a good amount of space, but we still needed more furniture.
One solution? Build a bar bigger than anything in our inventory! We designed and crafted this modular, oval bar, which we’re calling the Painkiller. At about 4 ft longer than our largest rentable bars, it’s customizable with paint colors and vinyl and just like we planned, it took up a substantial amount of space and provided a great centerpiece for our layout. (Heads up.. this bar is now available to customize and rent on our website!)
Oversized Decorative Planters
Our clients wanted to incorporate these giant paper flowers as decor, so we came up with another way to fill space: custom, oversized planters for them to live in! Seating was tucked against the planters which helped split the area up, creating multiple smaller areas or “sections” for people to hang out in.
While some planters backed up to full lounges, small vignettes surrounded others. The goal was to provide spaces for groups of all sizes to relax. Need a space for your whole festival friend group to chill? No problem..find a big, cozy lounge! Social battery drained from concert-going and want more intimate seating? Locate a cute, smaller vignette!
Hanging Decor Installations
Another way to make a space feel cozier is by hanging decor which helps reduce the feeling of a tall ceiling—especially helpful to spice up a massive, white tent! We designed these hanging fixtures with dangling florals and disco balls to hover over the bar and large lounges. They introduced more color and personality and tied back to the florals in the planters. (An added bonus was the lights reflecting off the disco balls at night.)
Our clients were thrilled with the cohesiveness of the design and how the tent felt fully furnished.
