2024 Summer Wedding Trends at Hotel Magdalena

Welcome to Hotel Magdalena—the perfect place for a summer wedding in Austin! We’re bringing Amy + Brendan’s wedding day to the blog now because it’s the perfect inspiration for anyone planning a summer 2024 wedding. Warm, natural colors, mid-century modern vibes and personalized details will all be trending this summer—keep scrolling to explore the perfectly designed elements of this Austin wedding!

The Venue

Hotel Magdalena is an urban retreat in the heart of South Congress that draws inspiration from Austin’s 1970’s lake culture. The casual, sophisticated atmosphere of the hotel is the perfect canvas for your wedding day. On it’s own, you get modern, mid-century design vibes with natural landscaping giving the feel of a cool lake house oasis right the middle of the city. Your guests will appreciate the location, tucked away just off South Congress, and you’ll feel like you found your own little oasis for your big day.

The Ceremony

Twinkle lights and lush greenery against the backdrop of this modern hotel make for an aesthetic ceremony location. We love when clients choose to alternate our Manhattan and Negroni chairs for the ceremony like Amy and Brendan did here! It may seem like a small detail but ultimately gives the design more personality. The rows of dark chairs draw your eyes down the aisle to the floral arch by Truth & Blooms. Standout floral arrangements will definitely be trending throughout 2024- especially ones that have a more organic feel.

Cocktail Hour

Modern, wooden shelves doubled as a display for family photos and trinkets and a place to grab a tasty margarita. We love how Austin couples aren’t afraid of adding quirky, personal details! And of course, an Austin wedding without a margarita just seems wrong. Modern, minimal signage by LVB Design House topped off this display!

Dining

Our Manhattan and Negroni chairs are back for dinner accompanied by natural, minimal place settings and stunning floral arrangements with blush and terra-cotta tones. Our G&T bar appeared at the end of the lawn and fit in perfectly with all of the other decor. With the pale maplewood dowels and copper statement top, we think this bar was made for a summer wedding on the Hotel Magdalena lawn. What a perfect flip of the area from ceremony to reception!

Lounge

Last but definitely not least, two modern, eclectic Party at the Moontower lounges! We curated these lounges to go perfectly with the natural color scheme, using leather, light wood and organic textures. Burnt orange and golden velvet added modern pops of color. This summer, couples will move away from the neutrals that have been on trend for years and lean more in to color. Not to brag, but our inventory is perfect for this — we have one of the widest color ranges available in Austin rentals!

This beautifully designed Austin wedding is great inspiration for your summer soirée — modern design mixed with organic materials, natural tones with pops of color, and personalized details and signage. There’s nothing more Austin than getting married in the heart of the city and making it feel like an oasis for your guests!
