Intimate and Micro Weddings That Wow

I would argue that the silver lining of 2020 for many couples getting married was being forced to downsize their guest list in a major way—think 10-50 people. While my large, 200 person wedding was a blast, I have to admit that I was a little sad reflecting back the next day that I didn’t get to say more than a hello to 90% of the guests. I tip my hat to these brave couples we had the pleasure of working with in 2020 and can’t help but feel a little jealous that they got to celebrate their love AND have quality time with their most cherished friends and family. Another silver lining? More budget for the luxe items, like specialty event rentals, gourmet catering and over-the-top floral! Below are some of our favorite intimate and micro-weddings from 2020:

Abbie & Cameron at Tillies @ Camp Lucy (12 people)

A true micro-wedding, this oh-so-sweet, tiny affair is what a lot of us married folk secretly wished we had. To be literally surrounded by just your few closest family and loved ones, while getting quality time with each guest is truly a gift! Needing it to be primarily outdoors due to the pandemic, the couple created a rich and winter-friendly space with warm velvets and jewel tones.

Lounges for all!

Nate & Cassidy at Casa Cartel (50 people)

Casa Cartel, a hidden gem Mexican villa, just minutes from downtown Austin, provided a luxurious and unique space for Nate & Cassidy’s intimate and elegant wedding. We love how the the warm reds and greenery of the tablescape mirror the villa’s lush garden courtyard and stunning tile. The elegant curved backs of the Negroni chairs accented with the Mexican blankets was a surprising combination and gave a nod to the history of the building.

Madeline & Dustin at Hotel Saint Cecilia (30 people)

Classic yet modern, chic yet playful, everything about this exclusive wedding was spot on. I mean, just look at that ombre, sunset-toned floral tablescape! The pops of color against all the black and white truly created a visual masterpiece. The simple elegance of it all makes this intimate wedding one of our all time favorites.

David & Alonzo at the W Hotel (20 people)

This fabulous Austin-vibe wedding had it all—voluptuous floral, plush lounges and disco balls! Nestled within the urban backdrop of the chic W Hotel rooftop pool deck, David and Alonzo were able to create a day that reflected their personalities and relationship. You can feel the joy, from the stunning suspended florals to the custom made “I love you so much” sign—a nod to the famous graffiti wall where David proposed to Alonzo!
