From Pinterest to Reality
If you’re anything like us, you were saving cool wedding ideas to your Pinterest boards years before you got the ring (or even found your person!). Lately, you’ve been seeing so many more cool custom installations at weddings and wondering “Where do people get these?!” Well, mystery solved. There’s a lot that goes into these builds, but the good news is, we’ve got it figured out and we’ll walk you through the process of one of our favorites—this Seating Chart & Ring for Cocktail Display Wall (we know, it’s a mouthful, lol).
It all started when our clients, Neka & Zach, sent an inspiration photo to their wedding planner. Luckily, she knew from experience that if anyone could bring their vision to life, it would be Party at the Moontower! She quickly sent a “Can you build this for me?” email and we jumped at the opportunity. We’re all about creating a damn good time for guests and what’s better than a ring-for-a-cocktail display to get the party going?!
The Behind the Scenes Process
The process for each custom fabrication is unique—hence the word “custom”, but here’s the gist! First, we provide a ballpark estimate to see if the build fits within budget for the event. Then, we work with our clients and their planner to nail down the details with questions and suggestions like: “What do we think of these light sconces?” “Do we want to use vinyl or dimensional lettering?” “Adding trim would make it look so upscale!” “Where at your venue will this be placed?” etc. Then, we provide a quote taking all of these details into account. When the price is right and we have the full design vision, a signature and payment is all it takes to get the process started!
Our designers mock the piece up to scale, bringing the concept to life with all the desired customizations and getting approvals along the way, of course. Just as important as the aesthetics, we also strategize in detail with our builder, the planner, the couple and sometimes even the venue manager, to make sure the final piece will fit the space safely and meet the intended usage.
Once the design is set, we dig into the build-out and other fabrication details. Our design/build engineer starts ordering materials, we connect with our printing partner to get files prepared, and so much more. Then piece by piece, we bring your dream wedding fabrication to life!
The Details of This Build
Just the sheer size of this build (8×12 feet) made a statement, but the thing about experiential installations is that the small details can’t be left out. The couples stationer created an arched seating chart for the middle panel, we installed custom vinyl with the couples names, monogram and signature cocktails, planter boxes were attached for the florist to fill, silky curtains hid the bartenders in the back, and working light sconces made late-night drinks even more enticing.
A Great Guest Experience? Priceless.
We can’t overstate how much this installation elevated the guest experience. With the ring of a bell, a cocktail appeared from behind a silky curtain. Facades on both sides hide the service area so it really felt like magic!
The bride and groom loved it so much that they had a late-night photoshoot that we just can’t get over. 😍 With all of the hard work we put into this installation, these photos were such a treat for our team! 100% worth it.
If you’ve got a Pin (or ten) saved and are wondering how in the world to bring them to life, now you know! Fabrication is an investment in your guests experience that is only going to become more popular as couples prioritize personalization on their wedding day.
And since you’ve made it to the end of this blog, we’ve got a hack for you. You can rent this exact Seating Chart & Ring For Cocktail Display Wall and customize it for your big day! See it in action on video here & here.
