Summer is quickly approaching, and soon many of us will want to be outside chilling by the cool or heating up the BBQ. Whether you’re having a casual hangout, outdoor wedding, or corporate party, these are a few tips to host the ultimate outdoor party.
Have a Theme
A theme can really tie together an event, even if your guest list is small! We LOVE a good theme, like the one pictured above. This tropical-themed, beautiful family picnic was held at Shady Springs Party Barn right outside the city. The picnic was full of family-friendly fun (as well as a fully stocked bar, always a plus). Dropbox asked us to design lounge spaces that would reflect the tropical theme of the event, and we had so much fun running with it!
Refreshments are Key!
Outdoor parties are great, but it can get hot fast down here in Texas! Consider having a bar at your event and keep the ice-cold drinks flowing.
Here is our Kir Royale bar in action at the ILEA Event! The reverse side of this bar features fixed shelves, a drawer, and a wine rack that holds up to 20 bottles– all of the essentials for serving favorite beverages!

Lights
You need a little ambient light if you plan to continue the festivities into the evening. Hanging string lights on a deck, fence, or tree branch is a great option to add extra light in the evening. Adding votives or metal lanterns to your outdoor party can heighten the ambiance.
Outdoor Games
Keep both adults and kids entertained through a bit of healthy competition! Having your outdoor party by the pool and having outdoor games is a great way for people to mingle and enjoy the outdoors. We even have a corn hole set ready for your next party! (Should we add anything about the custom branding, and do they have lights to play at night?)
For pool-centered games, guests can relax by the pool in our White Fresca Fringe Beach Chairs, whereas yard game onlookers can enjoy a front-row seat from our beautiful blue Helena Sectional Sofa.
Comfortable Seating
Creating areas for guests to congregate and sit comfortably is important to any party, but especially important in the heat. Cozy up any outdoor furniture by adding pillows and layering rugs to create comfortable lounge sets. This is a great way to create conversation areas where guests can mingle. It is worth noting that buying new furniture isn’t always an option and that buying on-trend pieces to accommodate a large number of guests isn’t sustainable.
