Chic Urban Rooftop Wedding at the W Hotel

Are you wanting to have an urban wedding yet don’t want to be confined to a ballroom or sacrifice a stunning vista? Then a rooftop celebration is the answer! Lucky for us, our hometown of Austin has plenty of prime rooftop venues, one of which is the always-chic W Hotel.

This lounge-style urban rooftop wedding takes inspiration from some of the small and micro-weddings we outfitted last year when the pandemic forced couples to downsize. For the ceremony, instead of the traditional rows of chairs, we saw couples putting lounge seating around a central space where the vows were exchanged. With higher guest counts, lounge seating for everyone during the ceremony becomes harder, yet couples can still achieve an intimate vibe by putting lounge furniture in the front for family, then chairs behind.

Another key feature of making an urban rooftop wedding feel intimate and unique, is to provide seating at various heights—lounge, cocktail and dining. This allows for some visual variation and different vantage points to enjoy being perched amongst a cityscape!

Last, but certainly not least, in order to define and give a rooftop space more character, you need a stand out decor element. Below, you’ll see stunning florals, perfectly excuted by the talented Bella by Sara. Just WOW, right?
