Meet Moontower: Kristina Gonzalez Sander

Kristina came to Party at the Moontower in 2017 — ready to dive into the event industry. She has made the most of these two short years by growing into the Project Manager position and helping make PATM what it is today!

In addition to her role with us, Kristina is a member of Boss Babes ATX 2019 programming committee, Founder of In Bold Company where she shares untold stories of cultural identity by women and non-binary people of color AND is a part of the 3-woman team to produce MissFits Fest.

Point being — Kristina is a doer that we’re lucky to have!

Where are you from?
Born in LA, went to school outside of Chicago, college in Iowa (random), lived in Spain, then landed in Austin!

What is your creative background?

I’ve always loved any creative activity from writing to photography; everything catches my interest. I studied Journalism, Spanish, and Creative Writing at The University of Iowa.

Tell us a little about your family?

Two main men in my life: my husband, Jeurgen and our dog, Monkey. I’m an only child but I grew up living and being with my cousins all the time, I feel like I’ve had siblings.

How did you get to Austin?
I had a friend who was going to grad school at UT so I came to visit her and bam! Fell in love instantly.

What cocktail are you currently ordering?

Mezcal margaritas. Gimmie that salt.

What’s your ultimate party song?

Laffy Taffy by D4L. Any reggaeton.

What is an activity you do to restore creativity?

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts lately, my favorite right now is Let It Out by Katie Daleabout. I’ve also been trying to journal again (morning pages).

What’s your favorite piece of Moontower furniture?

I went to Turkey recently and picked up some of these AMAZING rugs, like the Sofia. I spent hours in this store with my husband picking out rugs and drinking tea. This job taught me how to spot a good rug.

What’s your most-used emoji?

If I’m being honest… 😂Apparently, I laugh a lot.
